Imams are the successors of God on the earth until the Day of Judgment. Our Sunni brothers should note that Shias haven’t just made up something as imamate (leadership), and that Shia demonstrates and proves the truth of imamate from the Quran.
The Quran says in Sura AL-Anbiya (The Prophets) Verse 73: We made them imams, guiding by Our command, and We revealed to them the performance of good deeds.”
Due to the fact that Arabic is a perfect language and precise in detail, translators have to always be very careful while translating Quran’s verses, because a simple error in translation of a word may change the meaning of the whole sentence.
» imams, guiding by Our command . یَهْدُون» (Yahdoona) is a verb in present continuous tense, which means that they are still guiding now.
And فِعْلَالْخَیْرَاتِ » (Fe’lal Khayrat) in this verse means that ‘We made revelations of the good deeds to them’. It doesn’t say ‘We commanded them to do a certain good deed’. It clearly says we made revelations to them about ‘good deeds’. That is the reason why there is goodness in anything imams do and these deeds are clear of sins.

امامان جانشینان خدا روی زمین تا روز قیامت هستند ، قابل توجّه برادران اهل سنت که بدانند هرگز مذهب شیعه از خودش امام نساخته ، از قران وجود امام را اثبات میکند.
قرآن در سوره انبیا آیه 73 می‌فرماید : یَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَ أَوْحَیْنَا إِلَیْهِمْ فِعْلَ الْخَیْرَاتِ »
از آنجا که زبان عربی خیلی کامل است. مترجمین باید در ترجمه‌ی آیات قرآن دقّت لازم را داشته باشند ؛ زیرا یک اشتباه کوچک در معنی یک لغت ممکن است مضمون کل جمله را تغیییر دهد.
أَئِمَّةًیَهْدُونَبِأَمْرِنَا » یعنی امامانی که به امر ما هدایت می‌کنند. یَهْدُونَ » فعل مضارع است یعنی در حال حاضر نیز امامان هدایت می‌کنند.
و منظور از َ فِعْلَالْخَیْرَاتِ » در این آیه اینست که ما فعل خیر را بر آن‌ها وحی کردیم ، نمیگه : ما به اونها امر کردیم این کار خیر رو انجام بدن ، میگه کار خیر رو کلا به اینها وحی کردیم ، این است که هر کاری که امامان انجام دهند در آن خیر است ، عاری از گناه است.
